Beltone Hearing Aid Centers, which has had an office in Jamestown for more than 60 years, has a new location.
Beltone is now located in the Westgate Plaza, 560 W. Third St., Suite 4, Jamestown. The Chicago-based company founded in 1940 is one of the largest manufacturers of hearing aids. Abraham Rosenberg, Beltone licensed hearing instrument specialist, operates the Jamestown business, with locations also in Olean and Wellsville. Rosenberg has been involved with the company for 16 years and enjoys the new location. ''It is real easy to get in and out of,'' he said. ''People in wheelchairs have a much easier time when they come and see me. It tickles them that they are able to come right in without having to worry about stairs.'' Rosenberg said he has been part of the national company, which has more than 1,300 locations, for 16 years. ''They're the best hearing aids in the world,'' he said. ''People can take them to any location to get service. People from Florida can come right in and we will take care of them. When you come in, we treat you like family.'' Rosenberg said being able to help people hear again is a very satisfying profession. He said he likes helping individuals pass the negative stigma attached to wearing a hearing aid. ''Giving people the gift of hearing is unbelievable. Being able to help people hear is phenomenal,'' he said. ''I really enjoy when couples come in and you see their reaction to finally being able to hear their spouse again. When they put them in, they're like, 'Wow.''' Beltone offers free hearing screenings and a free trial. Rosenberg said Beltone hearing aids come with a three-year warranty and customers can get replacement hearing aids within two years if their hearing changes during that time. ''You can immediately put them on people and then they have a free trial for a week,'' he said. ''They put them on and leave the office for no charge. Then they come back in a week and tell me what they think.'' Rosenberg said he wouldn't be able to operate without his office manager, Sandy Darling. ''(Clients) call me with a problem and she takes care of it instantly,'' he said. The business is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Rosenberg said if clients cannot make office hours, he will schedule a time to see the patient outside of business hours. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 484-4900.
