An Iranian scholar has built a tiny capacitor microphone, a device could be used in building small and invisible hearing aids.
Bahram Azizollah Ganji, a faculty member of Noshirvani University in northern City of Babol who has built the microphone (0.5, 0.5) mm big, said the device is preparing for world record. It is the tiniest microphone in the world and is mainly employed for small and invisible hearing aids for the deaf. The device could be used for medical purposes to receive the exact sound of the heart for diagnosis of heart problems and examination of fetus health. It can also be applied for fishing, surveillance systems under water to measure sound waves and ultrasound waves to identify different marine animals. The tiny microphone can also be used in pens, telecommunications systems, information collection devices and defense systems. The microphone can not be seen with naked eyes. High sensitivity, low cost, low power consumption and use of low voltage are some advantages of the device. (by isna.ir)
